So after going through the specs, you can get the idea of what are the merits and demerits of one. For me, As I prefer Stock Android, I would go for Zenfone Max Pro (M1). And in the CPU side too, Zenfone Max Pro (M1) offers Snapdragon 636 which is faster than one offered in Redmi Note 5.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) comes with dual rear camera and bigger battery. No doubt the price of Zenfone is little higher but it seems offering the value for it too.
