Quick calculations in Web Browsers

2 + 2 = 4, Oh great, You and me both knows it and some web browsers knows it too. You might know that Google supports quick calculations in website. For example: If you search “2 + 2” in google then a Calculator will appear and give you the result.

In the above image, You can see, there is a calculator which have already done the calculation, which we want. It’s very useful because in some seconds, you will get the answer. You can ask many more questions and it’ll try to answer.

So how to get answers directly from the web browsers instead of going to Google?

Note: This trick should only work if you are connected to the Internet.

If you are using Google Chrome, Then You can directly write your query in Address Bar and it’ll quickly show you the answer.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, Then you’ve to select Default search engine to Google and after that You can directly get answers from the search box.

If you are using Opera, Same as Firefox, First you’ve to select Google as Default Search Engine and then you can directly get answers  from the Address Bar.

Many commands you can try:

  • (188 – 88) / 10 * 18
  • Hours in a day
  • minutes in a week
  • 10 miles in km
  • 1 second to millisecond

So here is a video which will show you practically how to implement this trick:

I’ve written this because this trick seems much cool to me and I use it mostly to not get out of the track of my browser. If you are also enjoying doing this and/or want to suggest anything then please drop your thoughts in the comments.

If it’s not working then make sure that you’re connected to the Internet. If the previous reason don’t solve your problem, then you should update your browser to the latest version. Or anything else then let me know in the comments.
